I am a wife and mother to 3 children ages 8, 10, and 14 as well as 2 cats that might as well be my children.

I have worked for the Maine windjammer,Schooner J&E Riggin, and her captains Jon Finger & Anne Mahle as the Shore Operations Manager going on 6 years now. I also am an assistant to Chef Anne Mahle as her food photographer, editor and sounding board. Both are jobs that are hard to call jobs because I love them so much!

I’m also an amateur photographer. I’ve had my photographs appear in Courier Gazette (now Herald Gazette and Village Soup), Portland Press Herald, Maine Discovery Coast Magazine, Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors Magazine, Family Circle, Women’s Day, Experience Life Magazine, Sea History and my photos are featured on Artichokes & Asparagus a food blog and this blog

Knitting for a cause

There’s always a reason to pick up knitting needles and delicious yarn, and now we have a very good reason to do just that. From now until March 26th, as a fundraiser for the Ashwood Waldorf School, we will be knitting as many 8” squares as we can and gathering pledges & sponsors per square [...]

The Boys are back in town

The boys are back in town and we couldn’t be more excited.  It’s early March and the first of our 2010 crew has arrived.

Scott (you may remember him as Scooter or Scoot)  is back for his second season! He left Texas a little while back and drove his way across country visiting people and places along his [...]

The Galley Chef

One of the many projects we’ve been working on this winter has been with a talented Maine-based film crew, putting together a television show focused on Annie’s food, the Riggin and local produce abundantly found in Maine. We’re now at a point where a major network could snatch it up. Though we don’t know where [...]

While brainstorming for this months newsletter we thought we’d do something fun.
How many of you are NCIS fans? We know, completely random and having nothing to do with the boat, but all of us here in the Riggin office are huge fans. So just for fun we’ve set up this poll to see how many [...]

Vote for Rockland Maine

Three weeks ago the National Trust for Historic Preservation named the 2010 Dozen Distinctive Destinations. What a surprise and pleasure it was to read that Rockland Maine was named one of them! Of course if you’ve been to Rockland, and the Riggin for that matter, you already know what a great place it is. We are incredibly [...]

Curtis Island, Camden Maine

Congratulations to Jim Laracey who was the random winner of February’s “Where are we?” contest who correctly guessed that we were sailing by the Curtis Island Lighthouse at the head of Camden harbor.
We hope Jim will enjoy the March issue of Maine Boats, Homes, and Harbors!

“Where are we?”

We thought it was about time we do another “Where are we?” contest as it’s been  a year since our last one! So without further ado….
Name this lighthouse and on what  bay, cove, or harbor you can find it. To enter for a copy of the March issue of Maine Boats,  Home, and Harbors post your [...]
