Maine Windjammer Recipes – Hello Dolly Bars

We also called these Everything-But-the-Kitchen-Sink Bars.

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
1 cup crushed vanilla wafers or graham crackers
6 ounces (small bag) chocolate chips
6 ounces (small bag) butterscotch chips
1 cup shredded coconut
1 cup chopped nuts (pecan, almonds, walnuts)
1 can sweetened condensed milk

Preheat oven to 350°.
Pour the melted butter into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
Sprinkle the crushed vanilla wafers evenly over the butter. 
Sprinkle the chocolate chips in an even layer over the wafers.
Repeat with the butterscotch chips, coconut and nuts.
Pour the condensed milk evenly over the nuts.
Bake for 20 minutes, cool slightly, and cut while still warm.

    What a coincidence. Carolyn made these for Christmas! Warning they are adictive. I ate 6 at my first attempt and then had them for breakfast the next day. She has been making them for special occasions for several years.
